On January 22 and 23, 2026<\/strong>, a key training session of the Erasmus+ MOCHILA Project<\/strong> was held at the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO)<\/strong>, the Jesuit University of Guadalajara, Mexico, as part of the project\u2019s capacity-building activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session was delivered by Dr. Carlos Delgado Kloos<\/strong> and Dr. Carlos Alario-Hoyos<\/strong>, academics from Universidad Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M)<\/strong>, a partner institution in the MOCHILA consortium. They shared European experiences in the design and implementation of micro-credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop titled \u201cThe European Approach to Micro-credentials and its Application in the Latin American Context\u201d<\/em>, participants were introduced to the main foundations, regulatory frameworks, and standards developed within the European Higher Education Area<\/strong>. The session also provided practical tools for the design of micro-credentials, addressed quality assurance mechanisms, and explored viable implementation pathways for higher education institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training is part of the MOCHILA Project\u2019s capacity-building strategy, which aims to promote more flexible certification models aligned with employability, lifelong learning, and the international recognition of skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participation of project partners in this activity strengthened the exchange of experiences between Europe and Latin America, contributing to the development of a shared framework for the design and issuance of micro-credentials in the region. It also highlights the role of the UNESCO Chair in bridging European experiences with educational innovation processes in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
