From August 25 to 29, 2025, the Deputy Director of the UNESCO Chair \u201cScalable Digital Education for All\u201d<\/em> at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Dr. Carlos Alario Hoyos<\/strong>, actively participated in the 4th Educational Innovation and Bonaventurian Academic Training Week<\/strong>, organized by the Center for Innovation in Education and Pedagogy (CEA) at Universidad de San Buenaventura, Cali \u2013 Colombia (educate.uc3m.es).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This academic space provided an opportunity to reflect and discuss the incorporation of micro-credentials, digital badges, and AI-based tools into teacher training and curriculum design. It served as a key moment to highlight the progress of the UC3M UNESCO Chair in educational innovation and to strengthen dialogue with institutions across Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Alario\u2019s participation in this forum directly contributes to the MOCHILA Project<\/strong>, bringing relevant insights for the development of modern and sustainable regional frameworks for micro-credentials. The initiative promotes flexible, modular certification systems aligned with the needs of lifelong learning in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOCHILA<\/strong> is a project funded by the European Commission that aims to develop a reference framework for the design and issuance of micro-credentials in Higher Education Institutions across Latin America and the Caribbean. Its purpose is to promote innovative certification systems that respond to the demands of flexible and continuous learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
