MOCHILA Project Featured in International Seminar on Digital Credentials

On September 23, 2025, the Erasmus+ MOCHILA Project was presented during the panel “Platforms and Credentials for Microlearning,” organized by the Directorate of New Technologies and Virtual Education at Universidad del Valle (Colombia). This international event brought together leading experts in educational innovation and digital credentialing.

Representing the project, Prof. Óscar Jerez Yáñez, academic from the University of Chile and member of the MOCHILA team, shared the main achievements and objectives of the initiative, which aims to strengthen institutional capacities for the design and issuance of digital micro-credentials in Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the panel, key topics were discussed, including inter-institutional recognition, cross-country alignment, integration of microlearning into traditional academic programs, and the challenges of ensuring academic rigor in alternative learning formats. MOCHILA’s participation helped position the project as a reference experience in the region.

MOCHILA is a project funded by the European Commission that seeks to develop a regional reference framework for the implementation of micro-credentials in Higher Education Institutions. Its purpose is to promote more flexible, modular training pathways oriented toward employability and lifelong learning.
